On Daydreams

During my first years in Shanghai I had a beautiful framed print of a Van Gogh quote from the Calm Gallery in London:

“I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.”

It was an inspiration to me during that time in my life when I was still finding my way in a new city and figuring out how I fit into it. I lost track of the print itself during a move to another apartment but the thought has stayed with me, reminding me to dream, to embrace new ventures with a sense of wonder. We may not have enough knowledge of astronomy or physics to fully understand the stars but we can see them and be inspired by their infinite presence.
